MNI BRIEF: Evans- May Be 2024 Before Rates Start to Rise

Chicago Federal Reserve President Charles Evans said Thursday it may be until 2024 before the employment and inflation outlook justifies increases in interest rates.

Evans also said the recent trend in the pandemic suggests near term economic momentum may slow, while affirming his view GDP will rise about 4% this year and unemployment will decline to around 5%.
