The Japanese government nominated Asahi Noguchi, professor at Senshu University, to the Bank of Japan board on Thursday, the Nikkei reported Friday.

Noguchi, known as a reflationary advocate, will likely replace BOJ board member Makoto Sakurai, whose five-year term ends on March 31, bringing the number of reflationary advocates on the BOJ board to four.

The BOJ board will conduct assessments on further effective and sustainable easy policy settings at the March 18-19 policy meeting.
