MNI BRIEF: Ingves To Leave Riksbank, Thedeen In

(MNI) LONDON

Stefan Ingves is to step down as Governor of the Riksbank at the end of teh year, the central bank announced Friday, with a replacement already names to step in.

Erik Thedeen, director general at the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority, will replace Ignves, whose mandate expires at the end of 2022. Ingves is the second senior Riksbank official to announce their departure from the Executive Board in as many weeks. Cecilia Skingsley will leave the Riksbank on August 15 to take up a new post at the BIS.
