MNI BRIEF: Mexico Inflation 5.57% In July, Up From June

Mexico's INPC annual inflation was 5.57% in July, the Mexican National Institute of Statistics and Geography said on Thursday, announcing a figure in line with the 5.53% consensus forecast and up from 4.98% in June.

Core inflation was 4.05%, also in line with the 4.02% consensus and up from 4.13 in June.

"Within the non-core index, on a monthly basis, the prices of agricultural products increased by 5.00%, and those of energy and government-authorized tariffs by 1.69%," INEGI said. (See MNI POLICY: Banxico Leans Toward Cut As Core Inflation Falls)
