MNI BRIEF: PEPP Exit Linked To Strategy Review: ECB's Schnabel

FRANKFURT (MNI)

The European Central Bank's transition from pandemic to post-pandemic monetary policy will require careful management and could be linked to the bank's strategy review, Executive Board member Isabel Schnabel wrote in a Twitter Q&A Wednesday.

Asked whether the phasing out of PEPP in 2022 could coincide with allowing greater APP flexibility, while also extending the maturity and discount period of TLTROs, Schnabel said a recalibration of the ECB's "regular tools" may be included in the winding down, "and will take into account the outcome of our monetary policy strategy review."
