MNI BRIEF: Turkish Inflation Expectations Steady- TEBA

MNI (LONDON) - Turkish household inflation expectations remained largely unchanged in July despite the central bank reporting a June fall in inflation, according to Koc University’s latest TEBA results.

Annual and year-end inflation expectations held steady at 113% and 93%, respectively, while inflation expectations for the 12 months to July 2025 were up from 97% to 100%.

The CBRT held its policy rate at 50% this week, and said it expects a “relatively limited,” temporary increase in monthly inflation this month following June’s “notable” fall. The Bank maintained its hawkish tone, though it expects disinflation to gain strength during the second half of the year. (See MNI EM INTERVIEW: CBRT To Cut Rates From Q4- Ex-Treasury Official)
