MNI BRIEF: No UK Parliament Recess Date Yet Ahead Poss EU Deal

LONDON (MNI)

UK parliamentary business managers have not yet committed to a time frame for the current session to end for the Christmas recess, noting the need to be ready to pass any legislation attached to an EU/UK trade deal. The Leader of the House of Commons Jacob Rees-Mogg said he could not announce when parliament would close, saying that there was a "duty to the country that the House of Commons is not an obstacle to ratification." He also announced that the amendments tabled by the House of Lords to the controversial UK Internal Market Bill could be addressed on Monday through Thursday if necessary.
