     BEIJING (MNI) - The following lists highlights from Chinese press reports
on Wednesday:
     CHINA PRESS: China will open the dominant service sector to foreign
investment after the comprehensive liberalization of foreign investment in the
manufacturing sector, the Economic Information reported Wednesday. Areas such as
medical research and development, finance, value-added telecommunications, and
cultural entertainment are expected to be leaders, the newspaper said.
     CHINA PRESS: China Mobile will construct more than 50,000 5G base stations
across 50 cities to provide a 5G commercial service, Yang Jie, the company
chairman said Tuesday. China Mobile will further expand the 5G network in 2020,
China Securities Journal quoted Yang as saying.
     CHINA PRESS: Beijing has stopped Canada exporting meat into China after
detecting ractopamine residues in pork products, the People's Daily reported
Wednesday. The investigation found that the official veterinary health
certificate attached to the batch of pork exported to China was forged, finding
188 such certificates. The Chinese Embassy in Canada has requested Ottawa
suspend the issuance of meat certificates for export to China from June 25.
     CHINA PRESS: China will boost the production of cutting edge technology
such as 5G and AI to meet growing consumer demand, the Economic Information
reported Wednesday. Local government will put supporting policies in place and
vendors will develop products to guarantee the upgrade, Yu Xiaohui, general
engineer with China Communication Research Institution told the paper.
