MNI: Coronavirus update from the weekend and this morning's headlines:
Over the weekend there have been deaths in both Italy and Iran, as well as cases
in Israel.
- Italy has 150 people who have tested positive for the virus up to Sunday with
11 towns now quarantined in Northern Italy. There is nothing concrete on patient
zero.
- South Korea lifted the level of alert re: the virus to the highest possible
level, with the case and death count continuing to move higher there.
- Officials in China's Hubei province warned that the pathogen's incubation
period may be longer than previously thought.
- Official communique of G20 FinMins reflected heightened coronavirus angst.
- Reuters have reported that Wuhan's local government has announced "that it
would let some people leave the city was made without authorisation and has been
revoked". Overnight headlines had suggested that non-locals would be let out.
- Shenzhen traffic counters released overnight showed a pickup in activity and
Guangdong province lowered its risk level.
