MNI DATA IMPACT:US MBA Mkt Composite -0.1%,Refi -1% Jun 28 Wk

     WASHINGTON (MNI) - The Mortgage Bankers Association Wednesday reported a
slight decrease in mortgage activity in the June 28 week, with activity down
0.1% on a small increase in mortgage rates.
     Here are some of the key features of the report:
     - The Refinance Index declined by 1%, while the Purchase Index rose by 1%
in the current week.
     - The 30-year average rate for a 30-year fixed mortgage increased to 4.07%
in the current week from 4.06% in the previous week.
     - MBA said mortgage activity growth continues to be supported by a strong
job market and low mortgage rates. 
     - The unadjusted purchasing index was up 10% from a year earlier.
