     LONDON (MNI) - Wednesday's data releases are largely second tier, although
two late afternoon appearances by Fed speakers could be of interest to markets.
     The European data calendar gets underway at 0700GMT, with the publication
of the Spanish unemployment data, followed by the Swiss retail sales data at
0715GMT.
     In the UK, the July Markit/CIPS construction PMI data is expected at
0830GMT.
     Back on the Continent, at 0900GMT, Eurostat are set to publish the latest
EMU producer price numbers.
     Across in the US, the calendar gets underway at 1100GMT, with the release
of the MBA weekly applications index.
     At 1215GMT, the ADP Employment Report will be published, followed by the
July ISM-NY Manufacturing Index at 1345GMT.
     At 1400GMT, the US help-wanted online index will cross the wire, followed
by the DOE weekly crude oil stocks at 1430GMT.
     Cleveland Federal Reserve Bank President Loretta Mester IS the keynote
speaker at the Community Bankers Association of Ohio Annual Convention in
Cincinnati, with audience and media Q&A, starting at 1500GMT.
     San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank President John Williams will discuss
"Monetary Policy's Role in Fostering Sustainable Growth" in Las Vegas, with
audience and media Q&A, starting at 1530GMT.
