- Trade Bal: -EUR5.3bn; Exports: 1.1% m/m, 6.6% y/y; Imports: 3.6% m/m, 5.2% y/y
- The French trade deficit widened by EUR1.2bn in Mar
- While exports increased on the month, imports rose at a stronger pace on
higher energy purchases 
- For Q1 overall, exports grew by 0.8% q/q while imports expanded at a faster
1.7%
- Import growth should be supported going forward by stronger household
spending.. 
- ... with favourable labour market dynamics and planned income tax cuts to
provide a boost 
- External demand remains subdued amid the slowdown in global trade growth...
- ... but some tentative signs of stabilisation suggest exports could perform
more strongly going forward
