- Bloomberg Consensus: 0.5% m/m, -5.2% y/y; Previous (May): -2.2% m/m, -8.6% y/y
- Markets look for a rebound in factory orders after a 2.2% m/m slump in May
- A spike in aircraft purchases at the Le Bourget air show in June could have
helped to drive an uptick in overall industrial orders
- However, further declines in manufacturing sentiment and survey measures give
little cause for hope & suggest that a downside surprise could be on the cards
- And the picture for the second half of the year looks far from reassuring -
Germany's Manufac PMI fell to a seven year low at the start of the third
quarter, led by the steepest drop in new export orders since 2009...
- ... with firms citing falling sales to China & a slump in the autos sector
- Amid the prolonged uncertainty about trade wars and Brexit, companies are
increasingly putting investment plans on hold... 
- ... as a key global supplier of machine tools and other investment goods, this
is hitting German industry especially hard
