LONDON (MNI) - A soft calendar is like a cold which can't be shaken off
with the calendar currently showing signs of the flu.
Monday's calendar has little in the way of data, with a lot of speeches
dominating the schedule. However, is also the key data point of the week as will
be shown by MNI analysis with the RBA board meeting minutes in Australia.
The calendar starts at 0630GMT with the release of the BoF Business Survey.
Previously, both the manufacturing and services sentiment index values were at
103.0.
Next up, at 0645GMT, Cleveland Federal Reserve Bank President Loretta
Mester speaks in Paris.
Moving swiftly to the late morning, at 1000GMT, the OECD leading indicator
in Europe is released. The previous index value was 100.1
ECB Executive Board Member Sabine Lautenschlaeger speaks in Copenhagen,
Denmark at 1015GMT.
Moving to the afternoon at 1245GMT, San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank
Executive Vice President Mary Daly speaks in London, England. this is followed
up at 1340GMT by St Louis Fed President James Bullard speaking in New York.
At 1500GMT is ECB Executive Board member Sabine Lautenschlaeger speaks
again in Copenhagen. The next speech comes at 1615GMT, when ECB Executive Board
member Peter Praet speaks in London on gender and career progression. Executive
Board member Benoit Coeure speaks in honour of Charles Wyplosz from 1745GMT.
The next batch of speeches is at 2020GMT with New York Federal Reserve bank
Executive Vice President Kevin Stiroh speaking in Toronto, Canada.
RBA Deputy Governor Guy Debelle speaks at the CFO Forum in Sydney,
Australia at 2300GMT.
What the calendar has been geared toward and waiting for is the 0130GMT RBA
board meeting minutes. In April, the Board decided to leave the cash rate
unchanged at 1.5%. RBA Deputy Governor Guy Debelle will speak via video link to
the ISDA forum in Hong Kong after the minutes have been published.
Finishing the calendar at 0200GMT, China publish their fixed-asset
investment, industrial output and retail sales data. Previously, year-on-year
growth for all three of these releases was at 7.5%, 6.0% and 10.1% respectively.
