     LONDON (MNI) - It is a tranquil Thursday in terms of data, but a lack of
releases is made up for with a string of policymaker speeches. The three pieces
of data worth noting as a result are November France industrial production at
0745GMT, November Italy retail sales at 0900GMT and November Canada building
permits at 1330GMT.
     Industrial production in France declined by 0.7% y/y in October.
     At 0815GMT is BOJ Osaka branch head Yasuhiro Yamada will hold a news
conference.
     Retail sales in Italy grew by 1.5% y/y in October.
     The ECB Monetary Policy meeting minutes are expected at 1230GMT.
     Building permits in Canada, expected at 1330GMT, declined by 0.2% in
October.
     Richmond Federal Reserve Bank president speaks in Raleigh, North Carolina
at 1335GMT.
     Four speeches from the US round out the Thursday session. The first at
1740GMT is St Louis Federal Reserve Bank president James Bullard giving a
presentation on the U.S economic and monetary policy at Little Rock, Arkansas.
Five minutes later is the US Federal Reserve Bank Chairman Jerome Powell
participating in a discussion at the Economic Club of Washington in Washington,
D.C.
     The penultimate speech is at 1800GMT with Chicago Federal Reserve Bank
president Charles Evans delivering a speech in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
     Ending the speeches at 1820GMT is Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank
president Neel Kashkari, speaking at a luncheon in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
