     LONDON (MNI) - Tuesday sees three key releases, with one each coming from

Germany, the UK and the U.S. From Germany, the February Gfk consumer climate

data at is due at 0700GMT. At 0930GMT the January UK BBA new home loan approvals

will be published . Another consumer confidence indicator ends the data

calendar, with the US consumer confidence reading for February at 1500GMT.

     Consumer confidence in Germany was 10.8 in January. The MNI median points

to no change in February.

     New home loan approvals from the BBA ended 2018 at 38,779. Whilst on a y/y

rate, this reading illustrated 6.2% growth, it was the second consecutive

monthly decline and also was below the rolling six-month average. January will

reveal if approvals started the year on a more healthier footing.

     Unlike Germany, the MNI median points to positivity in the consumer

confidence reading in the US. The prior conference board confidence reading in

January was 120.2. The MNI median is for a rise to 125.0.

     At 1500GMT, US Federal Reserve Bank Chairman Jerome Powell delivers the

semi-annual monetary policy report to Congress.
