MNI Global Morning Briefing:

Monday sees a slow start to the global data week, with largely second tier releases on the schedule.

Overnight, China inflation data saw consumer inflation edge lower y/y, but still coming in above expectations, while PPI edge higher.

Early in the European session, at 0645SBT, Swiss July unemployment data will be released, with the headline rate expected to improve to 3.0% from the 3.1% reported in June.

That will be followed by the release of the German import/export price data at 0700BST.

US data is also muted, with the June JOLTS data set for release at 1500BST and the NY Fed expectations index at 1600BST.

The only major speech scheduled for Monday sees Atlanta Fed President Raphael Bostic speaking at 1510BST.
