MNI Morning Global Briefing

MNI (London)
LONDON (MNI) - It's another interest rate decision day Thursday, with the
Norges Bank policy decision at 0800GMT and the ECB at 1145GMT. The final
noteworthy piece of data comes from Canada at 1230GMT with their payroll
employment data.
MNI calculations suggest the Norges policy rate will remain unchanged in
tomorrow's meeting at 0.75%. However, the December meeting points to a 26%
probability of a 25bps hike in the main policy rate.
Next up is the ECB who are also anticipated to keep the deposit rate, main
refinancing rate and marginal lending rate unchanged at -0.40%, 0% and 0.25%
respectively.
However, focus will be on whether the Governing Council make any firm moves
towards ending their APP in December and announce reinvestment plans, or if they
delay any decision until December
The y/y average weekly earnings in Canada were previously 3.0% in July and
payroll employment increased by 8,200.
