MNI POLICY: China Says Trade Talks with US to Resume in Sept

     BEIJING (MNI) - China and the U.S. will hold their next round of high-level
economic and trade talk in September following their 12th-round meeting in
Shanghai ended today, the China Central Television reported on Wednesday.
     In the two-day meeting, the two teams discussed that China will increase
purchases of U.S. agricultural products based on its domestic needs, and the
U.S. will provide good conditions for the purchases, CCTV said. 
     The Chinese team led by Vice Premier Liu He held "frank, efficient,
constructive in-depth exchange" with its American counterpart under USTR Robert
Lighthizer and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, in accordance with the
consensus reached by the two countries' top leaders at the G20 meeting in Osaka,
CCTV said.
