MNI US Morning Briefing

     LONDON (MNI) - Across the Atlantic the first release of the day is the US
MBS Weekly Applications Index at 1200GMT.
     Also at 1200GMT in UK parliament are weekly questions to the Prime
Minister.
     US FHFA Home Price Index will be released at 1400GMT.
     Also at 1400GMT Bundesbank Board member Andreas Dombret will give a speech
at University of Cape Town, South Africa.
     At 1445GMT the flash US Markit Manufacturing and Services PMI will be
published.
     US NAR Existing Home Sales will be released at 1500GMT. The pace of
existing home sales is expected to slip to a 5.70 million annual rate in
December after a sharp rise in November. Pending home sales was roughly
unchanged in November, but were up from a year earlier. Supply fell by 7.2% in
October and remains sharply lower from a year earlier, an indication that the
supply shortage continues.
     Rounding off the day at 1530GMT is the DoE Weekly Crude Inventory data.
