Modest Defensive Flows on False Alarm At U.S. Capitol

A modest round of risk-off flows were observed (Tsys bid, JPY firmer and e-mini weakness) as newswires noted that an evacuation had been ordered at the Capitol, with regional law enforcement noting that they were tracking an aircraft that poses a "probable threat" to the Capitol Complex. Since then, the Capitol Police have noted that there is no threat at the Capitol and the move took place owing to an “abundance of caution,” that has allowed the limited risk-off moves to pare back.
