More Sell-Side Views on US Election Outcomes

More headlines crossing on sell-side views for various assets following next week's US election.


  • BlackRock downgrade their view on US Treasuries to underweight, while upgrading inflation-linked securities (TIPS) to overweight. They cite significant fiscal expansion if the Democrats win the White House and the Senate.
  • At the other end of the scale, JP Morgan this morning said they see an orderly election win for Donald Trump as the most favourable outcome for equities, seeing S&P rallying to 3,900 if Trump wins a second term. JP Morgan see a 'Blue Wave' scenario in which the Democrats win a clean sweep as mostly neutral in the short-term.
