STOCKS: Most of the major regional equity indices struggled in Asia-Pac hours,
with U.S. equity index futures also edging lower as U.S. officials and source
reports drew questions re: what will come after the signing of the impending
Sino-U.S. phase 1 trade deal, as well a seemingly continued hard line stance
from the Trump administration vs. Huawei.
- The ASX 200 was the exception to the rule, registering fresh all-time highs,
trading a little shy of the psychological 7,000 mark.
- Chinese equity markets placed more focus on the aforementioned trade matters,
as opposed to the latest round of liquidity injections from the PBoC (which came
in the form of MLF & reverse repo ops).
- Nikkei 225 -0.5%, Hang Seng -0.7%, CSI 300 -0.7%, ASX 200 +0.3%.
- S&P 500 futures -10, DJIA futures -88, NASDAQ 100 futures -31.
