Muted Start On Monday, Data Calendar Light This Week

NZD/USD prints at $0.6140/50, the pair little changed from opening levels in a muted start to Friday's trade.

  • The pair was pressured on Friday, breaching its 20-Day EMA after souring risk sentiment weighed on the Kiwi.
  • Support was seen below $0.6120 and losses were marginally pared. NZD/USD finished ~0.6% lower.
  • Bear look to break $0.6117, Friday's low. From here they target the low from June 8 $0.6031. Bulls immediate focus is on a break of the 200-Day EMA ($0.6231).
  • AUD/NZD fell ~0.6%, the pair is below the $1.09 handle sitting a touch above the 200-Day EMA ($1.0850).
  • Cross asset wise; BBDXY rose ~0.4% and S&P500 fell 0.8%. 10 US Tsy Yields fell 5bps.
  • The data calendar is light this week. Only the ANZ Business Survey (Thursday) and Consumer Confidence (Friday) are due to cross.
