Nabiullina & Siluanov To Speak, S&P Global M'fing PMI Improves
- Head of the Kursk region said that a drone crashed into a non-residential building in Kurchatov, a town near the Kursk nuclear power plant. The plant's staff said that the facility is operating normally and the background radiation levels are normal. Separately, a drone was shot down in the Belgorod region and another one was downed in the Moscow region. Air traffic at several airports was limited due to the drone attacks.
- Russia's S&P Global Manufacturing PMI improved to 52.7 in August from 52.1 prior. However, the accompanying commentary flagged that "inflationary pressures intensified again due to currency weakness, pushing rates of input cost and output price inflation to the strongest in 17 and 16 months respectively."
- President Vladimir Putin will give an open lesson for schoolchildren to inaugurate the new academic year, with other officials also set to attend a number of related events. Meanwhile, CBR Governor Elvira Nabiulina and Finance Minister Anton Siluanov will speak at a conference hosted by the central bank from 11:00BST/13:00MSK.
