NATGAS: French Gas Hub at Six-Month Wide Discount to TTF: Platts

NATGAS

The French PEG month-ahead natural gas hub fell to a six-month low versus TTF as improving LNG and gas supply weakened the former, Platts said.

  • PEG was assessed by Platts at a 0.55 EUR/MWh discount to TTF, equivalent to 17 cents/MMBtu, the lowest since March 4.
  • The discount has widened further since the conclusion of maintenance at the Montoir-de-Bretagne LNG terminal, helping to improve LNG flows to France.
  • French natural gas inventories also stood at 91.34% Sep. 7, compared to 92.85% across Europe.
  • LNG prices are becoming more economical versus gas, which is boosted buying in NWE, with LNG imports into France up 26% on the month in August to 1.11m mt.
