NATGAS: Norway Gas Outages in Focus Towards Month End

NORWAY GAS – The European gas market remains sensitive to supply risks ahead of the upcoming winter heating season.  Gas storage is gradually filling to target levels, but European supplies are expected to tighten during the upcoming Norwegian maintenance season. 

  • Norwegian pipeline supplies to Europe are today nominated at 333.3mcm/d with capacity reductions of 18mcm/d today and over the weekend according to Gassco.
  • Seasonal maintenance is currently expected to ramp up to a peak of 200mcm/d of unavailable capacity on Sep 13.
  • The Kollsnes processing facility will reduce capacity by 18mcm/d from Aug 10 to Sept 2.
  • Gulfaks will have 5.4mcm/d of unavailable capacity from Aug 20-21, 16.1mcm/d from 
  • Asgard will have 8.3mcm/d unavailable on Aug 22-24 and the full 16.4mcm/d offline from Aug 24-Oct 1.
  • Kristin will reduce capacity by 8.5mcm/d from Aug 24-30
  • Other fields and plants including Skarv, Sleipner, Visund, Karsto, Heidrun, Johan Sverdrup and Njord all have works planned before the end of the month.
