NATGAS: US Natgas Storage Likely Rose by 50 Bcf: WSJ Survey

US natural gas inventories likely increased by 50 Bcf in the week to Sep. 6, according to a survey of nine analysts, brokers, and traders by the WSJ, below the five-year average for the time of year.

  • This would take total storage levels to 3,397 Bcf in the week to Sep. 6.
  • Survey estimates ranged from 37-68 Bcf.
  • The five-year average change for this period is a net injectionof 67 Bcf.
  • Under these figures, the storage surplus over the five-year average would fall to 306 Bcf, down from 323 Bcf the previous week.
  • A Reuters survey forecast a similar below average build of 49 Bcf.
  • The EIA will report the official figures at 10:30 ET Sep. 12
