Nation Expects to Offer First Local Green Bonds in Q3 (Bloomberg)

  • Colombia's government is expecting to offer its first green bonds in the third quarter in order to finance sustainable projects, Public Credit Director Cesar Arias says according to a Finance Ministry statement.
    • Bond sale will fund 27 projects for as much as 2 trillion pesos ($512 million). These projects would include clean transportation, water sanitation works, biodiversity protection and renewable energy to name a few.
    • Nation will be the second in the region offering green notes and the first selling in local currency.
