NBP Release September Meeting Minutes

POLAND

The NBP have released the minutes of their September MPC meeting. As a reminder, these are not the minutes for this week’s decision. Highlights from the document (via Reuters):

  • Most Polish rate-setters said inflation would continue to decline.
  • Most Polish rate-setters said weaker economic conditions would help CPI return to target faster.
  • Most Polish rate-setters said following September rate cut, level of interest rates will still support return of CPI to target.
  • Some Polish rate-setters said the hitherto level of interest rates was optimal, but said in future rate cut might be justified.
  • The view was expressed that interest rates were too low.
