NBP To Announce Rate Decision Thursday

  • The National Bank of Poland (NBP) is widely expected to keep interest rates unchanged tomorrow (our preview will be out later today), while Governor Adam Glapinski may stick with his cautious rhetoric during his press conference on Friday. Headline inflation fell to +1.9% Y/Y in March but is expected to accelerate in the coming months, keeping the NBP on its toes.
  • Speaker Szymon Holownia said that he did not hold any talks with Prime Minister Donald Tusk on a potential Cabinet reshuffle and does not expect any of the ministers delegated by his Poland 2050 party to be replaced.
  • Protesting farmers said there was no breakthrough in their talks with the Agriculture Minister and have called on PM Tusk to join the negotiations.
