Net Buys Pick Up Despite PEPP Deceleration

ECB

ECB net asset purchases accelerated a little last week, up to E20.1bln vs E17.2bln (though shy of the E22.1bln a week prior).

  • While net PEPP purchases slowed to a 3-week low, PSPP, Covered Bond, CSPP and ABS net buys all accelerated.
  • The moderation in PEPP purchases came despite an unremarkable amount of redemptions (only E0.3bln) in the week. Conversely, Covered Bond net purchases hit a 5-week high despite E0.7bln in redemptions.
