New Dutch LNG Terminal Receives First Arrival

The first LNG cargo has arrived at a new Dutch terminal in the port of Eemshaven and has begun discharging.

  • The LNG tanker Murex berthed at the new EemsEnergyTerminal, capable of handling 8 bcm of gas a year according to Gasunie.
  • The terminal, near Groningen, has two Floating Storage Regasification Units (FSRUs) that Gasunie leased at the request of the Dutch government.
  • The terminals were brought in to help end European reliance on Russian gas
