New European LNG Send-Out Rates

Europe's new LNG import facilities have sent out gas at rates up to around 20-25 mcm/day so far this winter according to ICIS.

  • Flows should grow later in the year as they come into full operation.
  • The Dutch EemsEnergyTerminal was shut in the second half of January due to the lack of a heat supply when the nearby RWE coal plant was closed. It is running again now.
  • The German Wilhelmshaven terminal has been running at around 10-15 mcm/day rates since opening in December.
  • The more complicated German Lubmin terminal, which relies on shuttle transfers, has seen smaller volumes so far, but should increase later in the year.
