GOLD: News of an October round of Sino-U.S. trade talks in Washington pressured
the yellow metal in Asia trade, with gold last dealing $10 or so lower at
$1,543/oz. Yesterday saw the yellow metal print above the August 26 high, with
yesterday's peak now providing the initial point of resistance, while initial
support is still seen at the August 30 low.
- To recap, Wednesday saw RTRS sources report that "the London Metal Exchange's
gold and silver futures are being thrown into doubt, with the imminent
resignation of Societe Generale as a market maker threatening to deepen a
decline in trading activity."
