Nigeria Increase Effort to Reduce Oil Theft

Nigerian security services scale up the battle against oil theft in bid to restore production the military said Aug. 12

  • They have recovered 3.75mbbls of stolen crude from the heart of the main Niger Delta oil producing region.
  • The CEO of NNPC Ltd said in July that Nigeria was losing close to 400kbpd of oil output due to theft.
  • Nigeria crude and condensate production average 1.314mbpd in July according to the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission. Their OPEC target was 1.799mbbls in July.
  • Bonny Light and Forcados exports remain disrupted.
