REFINING: Nigeria Restarts its Warri Refinery After 10-Years

Nigeria’s 125,000 bpd Warri refinery has resumed operations after a decade of closure NNPC said on Monday.  It is running at 60%.

  • "This plant is running. We have not completed 100%," Mele Kyari, head of NNPC said.
  • NNPC said it had revived the 60,000 bpd Port Harcourt refinery in the Niger Delta last month.
  • It has intentions to revive all four of its state-owned refineries which have been mothballed.
  • It adds to capacity already revived after the privately owned 650,000 bpd Dangote refinery has ramped up operations this year.
