Nigeria’s Crude Oil Output Hits 1.6mbpd

Nigerian oil production has risen to 1.6mbpd, but it continues to fail to meet OPEC production quotas of 1.83mbpd, according to Nairametrics.

  • Nigeria’s production capacity increased to 1.6 million bpd this month, according to Bala Wunti, chief upstream investment officer at NNPC.
  • In November, Nigeria produced 1.41mbpd of crude oil and condensate, up from 1.23mbpd in October, and from 937kbpd in September.
  • The increase was possible because of the government’s efforts to limit crude oil theft.
