No Decision Expected on EU Gas Cap Today

EU ministers are attempting to develop discussions around a bloc wide gas price cap today, though no decision is expected from the meeting.

  • Ministers meeting in Luxembourg are expected to debate the principles of how an EU gas price limit could work, as well as possible drawbacks.
  • Some ministers in favour of the gas price cap fear recent falls in gas price may limit the impetus top put such a mechanism in place.
  • "We'll make the decisions... not today," Riina Sikkut Estonia's economy minister said.
