No Indications of Full Freeport LNG Restart

LNG

A number of ships are waiting outside the US Freeport LNG plant on 21 February according to ICIS, but none currently at the jetty after the recent loading of four cargoes from the storage tanks.

  • Four ships have loaded from Freeport since 12 February, but it's thought they only loaded volumes that had been stuck in the plant's storage tanks since it shut after a fire in June 2022.
  • The cargoes are also thought to be partial based on draught details.
  • The four cargoes were on the Kmarin Diamond, the Prism Agility, the LNG Rosenrot and the Nohshu Maru. The LNG Rosenrot is now heading to Wilhelmshaven in Germany.
  • Feedgas into Freeport has reached around 0.4 Bcf/day so far. If the plant was running at full production - expect rates more around 2.1 Bcf/day. The plant is not yet thought to have permission for a full restart.
