US DATA PREVIEW: Nomura economists led by Lewis Alexander said on Thurs 8:30am
ET US weekly initial jobless claims out that "initial claims data indicate
continued labor market tightness. For the week ending July 22, initial claims
increased 10k to 244k, remaining within a low steady range." 
- They add the "4-week moving average, a less volatile reading, remained
unchanged at 244k. For the week ending July 15, continuing claims decreased
slightly to 1964k from 1977k one week prior. The insured unemployment rate
remained unchanged at 1.4%. With a historically low unemployment rate and strong
payroll growth, we expect these series to remain subdued over the medium term."
