NATURAL GAS

Norway's pipeline gas exports to continental Europe and the UK remained robust in March with flows averaging 313mcm/d according to S&P Global.

  • Total deliveries in March were at 9.71bcm and higher than the five-year average for the month of 9.65bcm but down on 9.94bcm in March 2022.
  • Norway has pledged to do what it can to ensure stable gas deliveries to Europe to help offset lost Russian supplies.
  • Several fields have planned outages for maintenance in the middle of April which could reduce output by up to 100mcm/d on certain days.
  • Output could be boosted with the expected return of the Dvalin field scheduled to resume production at a rate of 4.5mcm/d on April 29. The field with a technical capacity of 9mcm/d then plans to ramp up production from 7 May.
