JAPAN: Nothing to really shout home about in the latest round of weekly
international security flow data.
- Japanese investors lodged a fairly steady Y499.3bn round of net selling of
foreign bonds, representing the 10th week in 12 that Japanese investors have
been net sellers of that particular asset group.
- Japanese investors also recorded a 14th straight week of net buying of foreign
equities, albeit paring back to Y185.2bn worth of net purchases.
- Foreign investors lodged a 3rd straight week of net purchases of Japanese
bonds, totalling a relatively meagre Y157.9bn.
- Finally, foreign investors shed a net Y38bn worth of Japanese equities, the
7th week out of the last 8 that has seen net sales, with the only exception to
that rule being the previous week's shallow foray into net buying territory.
