Philly Fed Nonmanuf Slows In November

November's Philadelphia Fed Nonmanufacturing Business Outlook Survey showed a moderation of activity in the region vs October.

  • The current general activity index fell to 5.3 this month (lowest since June), from 25.3 in October, with new orders weak but employment and price indices positive. The current regional activity index fell 32 points to -15.9.
  • Future activity indices point to expectations in overall improvement in activity over the next six months.
  • This month's special question found that firms expect prices for their own output/services to rise more slowly than overall national inflation.
