Novatek Lowered Gas Output at Arctic LNG 2

Gas production at Novatek’s Arctic LNG 2 in February fell sharply to 83mcm, down from 250mcm in January and from 425mcm in December according to Vedemosti, citing sources.

  • The decline in output is due to a delayed start of LNG shipments, the sources said.
  • Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said last week that the project, which started tentative production in December, remains in talks about LNG deliveries as Western sanctions hinder the availability of tankers for the project.
