NZ Filled Jobs Little Changed

NZD

NZD/USD operates just shy of neutral levels, last at $0.6996. The pair tested the nearby $0.7000 figure on Friday, but failed to consolidate above there. The rate has held a tight range in early trade, looking for fresh catalysts.

  • Stats NZ released their monthly employment indicators. Filled jobs were little changed on a M/M basis.
  • A clean break above the $0.7000 figure would allow bulls to take aim at $0.7132, which represents the ascending 100-DMA. Bears look for a dip through Mar 25 low of $0.6943, which would expose the 200-DMA at $0.6875.
  • Focus turns to building permits (Tuesday), final ANZ Business Confidence (Wednesday) & ANZ Consumer Confidence (Thursday). CoreLogic House Price Index is expected to hit the wires at some point this week.
