DOLLAR-YEN: NZD has continued to struggle through the second half of the
Asia-Pacific session, with little in the way of direct catalysts apparent for
the move.
- NZD/USD last 25 pips or so lower at $0.6705. Pair has broken below the Dec 26
intraday low of $0.6716, with bears now targeting a clean break below $0.6700
after a brief look under the figure; this would allow them to focus on the
100-DMA at $0.6671. Bulls need a break above the 50-DMA to open up Friday's high
at $0.6790.
- The NZ docket is empty this week, so rate will likely be driven by broader
risk appetite & possibly AUD/NZD flow.
