KIWI: NZD/USD last deals virtually unchanged at $0.6595. Wednesday saw AUD's CPI
inspired weakness spill over into the kiwi, with USD strength applying further
weight, allowing the pair to close below $0.6600 for the first time this year,
breaching short-term down trend support in the process.
- Supported located at Wednesday's low of $0.6582, followed by the YtD flash
crash low at $0.6575. Below here, support is located at the 76.4% retracement of
the move from $0.6425 to $0.6970, at $0.6554. Bulls will look to reclaim
$0.6600, with consolidation above required before they can look to the 61.8%
retracement of the move from $0.6425 to $0.6970, at $0.6633, followed by the
recent intraday peaks.
- New Zealand observes ANZAC day today, so NZD liquidity will be somewhat
diminished. The highlight of Friday's docket comes in the form of consumer
confidence and trade data.
