KIWI: NZD/USD last trades at $0.6843, barely changed on the day, after climbing
23 pips on Friday, as NZ BusinessNZ manufacturing PMI ticked higher and global
equity markets posted gains. The rate's ascent was also aided by disappointing
Empire m'fing and industrial output data from the U.S.
- After Friday saw a breach of the 21-DMA at $0.6831, the initial bullish target
is now provided by $0.6859, where the rate peaked on Friday. Above here opens
the upper 1.0% 10-DMA envelope at $0.6886. Meanwhile, bears look for a fall back
below the aforementioned 21-DMA, before challenging the 50-DMA, situated at
$0.6816.
- NZ docket this week is headlined by domestic Q4 GDP, due Thursday. Elsewhere
Q4 current account data will hit on Wednesday.
