US DATA: October durable goods new orders -1.2%, well below the +0.5% 
expected after an upward revised +2.2% in September (prev +2.0%). 
- Durable goods ex-transport +0.4%, as expected, pointing to 
underlying strength. Outside of transport, there were gains for every 
category except fabricated metals. 
- Transport orders -4.3%, with nondefense aircraft orders -18.6%, 
defense orders -11.3, unlisted transportation components -16.8%, 
according to an MNI calc. Mtr veh orders +1.7%, providing some offset. 
- Nondefense capital goods new orders were -4.5% and -0.5% ex. aircraft. 
- Durable shipments +0.1%. Nondef cap gds shipments -1.9% but +0.4% ex. 
air. Durable inventories +0.1%, unfilled orders flat.
